BradyPrinter M,­ X,­ X+ and MVP Thermal Printer Drivers for Windows 95/­98/­NT/­2000/­XP 6/­9/­05 0.­42 MB,­ ZIP The electronic file of the BradyPrinter M,­ X,­ X+ and MVP Thermal Printer Drivers for Windows 95/­98/­NT/­2000/­XP is available for download in WINZIP format.­ PRINTER DRIVER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Click the appropriate printer driver type you need from www.­bradyid.­com Drivers/­Updates,­ Brady Thermal Drivers.­ Choose Detach or Save to disk and save it to a known directory on your hard drive (like c:\temp).­ Unzip the file,­ extracting all files to one directory on your hard drive.­ We are now ready to add your Brady Thermal Print Drivers.­ Click on your Windows Start button,­ Settings and then Printers.­ Double click on the icon that reads Add Printer.­ Windows will launch what is called the Add Printer Wizard.­ The Wizard will ask if this is a Network or Local printer.­ Choose Local and then click Next.­ You will then be prompted to Select the port you want your printer to use.­ Choose the port your printer is installed to.­ If you have a serial connection with your computer,­ find out the COM port you are plugged into and choose that COM port as the port.­ If you are connected to the printer parallel choose the parallel port your printer is plugged into (most likely it will be LPT1).­ Click Next.­ The next screen will have a list of printer manufacturers and brands.­ The Brady Thermal Print Drivers will not be listed yet,­ you will need to select Have Disk.­ The Install From Disk dialogue box will appear,­ click browse.­ On the Locate File screen,­ you will need to navigate to the place you saved and unzipped your printer driver files.­ Click the down arrow button in the right side of the Look In field,­ and double-click on the location or yellow directory folder that contains the files you unzipped (c:\temp,­ Desktop,­ c:\seagull,­ or where-ever you copied the files).­ When you get to the location or folder which holds your driver files,­ one file will be listed called oemsetup.­inf or xxx.­inf.­ Double click on this file.­ You will then be back at the Install From Disk dialog box.­ Click OK.­ On the next screen in the Add Printer Wizard,­ select your Brady Printer model,­ and click next.­ The printer you selected will default into the printer name field on the next screen.­ You can also choose if you would like Windows to use this printer as the default printer.­ The default printer is the printer that all of your programs are going to print to,­ if you print from othe r programs that aren't for labeling choose no,­ then click Next.­ Say No to printing a test page,­ you will be able to test from your ssoftware by printing a label.­ Click Next,­ and then click Finish.­ Your printer driver is now installed on your computer and will be available to any Windows-based software.­ IMPORTANT NOTE: When utilizing Thermal Print Drivers on a computer running Windows 95/­98,­ there is one known issue that users should be aware of.­ Any application that gives the end user the ability to access printer properties THROUGH the application will behave adversely when this feature is attempted.­ To work around this problem,­ simply access all thermal printer properties via Windows internal print manager.­
